Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, your chiropractor in Anthem, discusses treating allergies with chiropractic care

Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, your local Anthem and North Phoenix chiropractor, invites you to consider chiropractic to help relieve allergy symptoms.
Allergies are the body’s reaction to substances that are considered to be harmless to most other people. Breathing difficulty, sneezing, and sinus irritation are the most common symptoms. Skin reactions, itchy eyes, and runny noses can make life miserable. Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, your Anthem chiropractic clinic, discusses how chiropractic care can be an effective treatment for allergy symptoms.

Allergic Reactions: The immune system recognizes harmful substances and acts to remove them from the body. Misalignment of vertebrae can cause an irritation in the spine. This can create an abnormal signal which is sent to the central nervous system.

How Chiropractic Can Help: Chiropractic adjustments remove interference to the nervous system to allow the body to function and fight like it was designed to do. Many patients report that they notice less allergies and associated symptoms while receiving regular chiropractic care.

Why Choose Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology: Chiropractic neurologists are highly qualified specialists in the brain and nervous system. They have dedicated many years to study of these systems and are prepared to offer effective treatment options that do not involve the use of medications or surgery.

If you are experiencing symptoms of allergies, consider chiropractic treatment as a potential, drug-free option for allergy relief. Your chiropractic clinic in Anthem, Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, is committed to correcting vertebral misalignment and helping you experience health and well being. Chiropractor in Anthem suggests you take time to stretch - Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology

Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology Anthem and North Phoenix shares about stretching
There are many reasons for you to take time to stretch which can have far-reaching effects. Because stretching is so important for maintaining your health, Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, your chiropractor serving Anthem and North Phoenix, would like to share a little more information about it.

  • Stretching can:
  • Help prevent injuries
  • Can help you breathe better
  • Can speed recovery from injuries
  • Can enhance physical performance
  • Increase flexibility and joint range of motion
  • Improve circulation
  • Create better posture
  • Help coordination
  • Relieve stress

With all of these benefits, who wouldn’t want to take the time to stretch? Like everything, it’s not that simple. In order to benefit from stretching it is important that it be done right.

  • Warm up: Stretching muscles when they're cold increases your risk of pulled muscles. Warm up by walking while gently pumping your arms, or do a favorite exercise at low intensity for five minutes.
  • Hold each stretch for at least 30 seconds. It takes time to lengthen tissues safely. Hold your stretches for at least 30 seconds - and up to 60 seconds for a really tight muscle or problem area.
  • Don't bounce: Bouncing as you stretch can cause small tears (microtears) in the muscle, which leave scar tissue as the muscle heals. The scar tissue tightens the muscle even further, making you even less flexible - and more prone to pain.
  • Focus on a pain-free stretch: If you feel pain as you stretch, you've gone too far. Back off to the point where you don't feel any pain, then hold the stretch.
  • Relax and breathe freely: Don't hold your breath while you're stretching.
  • Stretch both sides: Make sure your joint range of motion is as equal as possible on each side of your body
  • Stretch before and after activity: Light stretching after your warm-up followed by a more thorough stretching regimen after your workout is your best bet.

If it hurts when you stretch it is important to see a medical professional. For more information about the benefits of stretching or for any of your chiropractic needs in Anthem and North Phoenix, contact Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology at 623-587-0277 or visit our website at http://www.chirorehabcenter.com.

Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology discusses bodybuilders and their need for chiropractic care in Anthem and North Phoenix

Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology talks about bodybuilders' need for chiropractic care in North Phoenix and Anthem
A chiropractor treats the spine and body to help achieve a normal spinal structure that forms a strong foundation for the rest of the body. If your spine is unbalanced, it will not let your body work at its maximum capacity and can also lead to injury. This is a simple truth, not just for ordinary people, but also for bodybuilders. Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology would like to discuss why chiropractic care is essential, even for bodybuilders in Anthem and North Phoenix.

In order for a bodybuilder to use proper form and technique, it is extremely important that he put equal pressure on each side of his body. When there is a spinal shift, the muscles on one side of the body must work harder than the other which causes stress to the body. With this unlevel or unequal foundation, a bodybuilder may be able to work for a while without injury, but it will only be a matter of time. In addition, an unbalanced workout will not be as effective for the body.

Bodybuilders take their health seriously and even step it up a notch to help lose fat and gain maximum muscle. If a bodybuilder ignores the key component of human health, that of the spine and nervous system, they will never be able to achieve their true potential.

It is so important to bodybuilders to maintain proper spinal alignment that many say that it’s not even an option to not have a chiropractor. They relate the importance of a chiropractor to that of a doctor or dentist. Chiropractic care is something that they feel is critical and essential to everyday health and achieving good physical well-being.

So if you are a bodybuilder, or just an everyday person looking for better health, the professionals at Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology are here to help. At Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, we are using many resources, such as advancing our technology, updating our methods, and using good caring philosophy to increase the well-being and health of our Anthem and North Phoenix patients. What low back pain sufferers in North Phoenix should and shouldn’t do until they can be seen at Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology

Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology offers tips for relief for North Phoenix low back pain sufferers
Low back pain can occur when we least expect it. Working in the garden, playing sports or lifting something heavy can often result in a minor but painful injury to your low back. You need immediate relief, and Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology has these tips for what you should and shouldn’t do until you can be seen at our North Phoenix chiropractic office.

Cold Therapy. In the first 24 to 72 hours, apply an ice pack to the lower back to minimize swelling and inflammation. The ice pack will help reduce damage to tissues, and relieve pain by numbing the sore area. An “ice pack” can be a package of frozen vegetables, a gel ice pack or a frozen towel. Be sure to:
  • Place a cloth between your cold pack of choice and your skin to prevent ice burn.
  • Leave ice pack on for no more than 20 minutes, then off for 20 minutes, 8 to 10 times in a 24 hour period.
Heat Therapy. After the swelling has gone down, heat can be applied to encourage healing in your low back. Heat stimulates the blood flow and draws oxygen and nutrients to the injured area. Heat can decrease your stiffness and lessen the sensation of pain.
  • Dry heat, such as a heating pad, can draw moisture from the body and leave the skin feeling dehydrated.
  • Moist heat, like a hot bath or steam towel, may penetrate deeper into the muscles to relieve pain, and is better for people with dry skin.
If your low back pain is a chronic condition, you may want to experiment with heat and cold therapy to determine which works best for you. If you exercise, you may want to use both: heat to warm the muscles before activity, and cold to reduce inflammation afterwards.

If you’re experiencing low back pain or you’ve sustained a back injury, try the cold and heat therapies for immediate relief. Then call to make an appointment with the professionals at Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, your chiropractic team in Tramonto, at 623-587-0277. Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology in North Phoenix Talks About Ways to Avoid Sports Injuries

Avoid Sports Injuries with Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology in North PhoenixSpring is coming, and with it outdoor sports and sports injuries. Although it is impossible to prevent injuries all the time due to the unpredictable nature of physical activity, Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology in Tramonto offers some precautions that you can take to decrease the likelihood of an injury.

Warm Up. The most common cause of sports injury is failure to warm up properly before beginning strenuous physical activity. A 5 to 10-minute warm-up with gentle stretching and exercising will help prepare your muscles for the physical activity to follow. It’s important to start slowly and build up gradually to a more brisk pace. A warm-up increases the flow of blood to the area, increases the flexibility of the muscle fibers, and reduces the risk of straining or pulling a muscle. Steady walking and jogging are ideal warm-up exercises.

Protective Equipment. Wearing the correct protective equipment, such as shin guards for soccer, will help prevent injury and reduce the risk of damage to your body. It’s also important to use proper footwear to support feet and ankles. For contact sports, protective headgear is a necessity.

Know Your Limitations. Be sure to listen to your body when engaging in sports activities. If you are starting a new activity, begin slowly until you build up stamina and energy. Allow your body to adjust and over time you will be able to increase the length of time spent in your sport of choice.

Hydrate. It’s important to keep the body hydrated, especially during sunny and warm weather. Drinking water before and during physical activity can keep you mentally and physically on top of your game.

Cool Down. It’s just as important to cool down after physical activity as it is to warm up beforehand. The cool-down process allows the body to remove the muscles’ waste products and replace them with oxygen and nutrients. Be sure to spend 5 to 10 minutes walking or doing gentle exercises to return your heart rate to normal. To prevent muscle stiffness, stretching during the cool down is also beneficial.

To help keep you performing at your best, call Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, your local chiropractor in Tramonto, for an appointment at 623-587-0277. To learn more about how we can help you improve your game, please visit our website at http://www.chirorehabcenter.com.

At Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, your North Phoenix chiropractor in Tramonto, we offer a wide range of services for our patients. At Chiropractic Rehab and Neurology, your North Phoenix chiropractor in Tramonto, we offer a wide range of services for our patients. One service we offer is EMG / NCV Testing. Because this is something that is unfamiliar to many people, we’d like to tell you a little more about it by answering a few questions.

What is EMG and NCV?
  • These are commonly performed procedures that are a direct extension of the physical examination. They detect nerve and muscle disorders.
  • An EMG specifically tests the electrical activity of the muscles. Disposable pin electrodes are inserted into the muscle to record their activity.
  • An NCV specifically tests how well signals travel along a nerve and the time it takes muscle to respond to these signals. Stimulating and recording electrodes are used on the surface of the skin.
Do these procedure hurt?
  • An EMG is uncomfortable, but not extremely painful. Most people tolerate this minor level of pain quite well.
  • During an NCV procedure most people feel an unusual tingling sensation. Some may experience slight, temporary pain or discomfort.

What are these procedures for?
  • To evaluate the causes of numbness, tingling, pain, weakness, fatigue, spasms, and paralysis.
  • To diagnose carpal tunnel syndrome, muscular dystrophy, fatigue, myasthenia gravis, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), and pinched nerves.
